Full analysis:
Today I'll take an unconventional look at MMA, specifically the Oktagon 72 tournament. This fight caught my attention for a few reasons. Bojan is returning after a year and a half long layoff, he's 36 years old and has already considered ending his career. Ronald, on the other hand, is 29 and in his prime. He's also now about to have his first fight in the welterweight division, which he moved up to from the lightweight division. It was at lightweight that Ronald struggled a bit in the last few fights because of the big drops, but despite that he has made huge progress on the Czech-Slovak scene and it is in the welterweight division that he is yet to make a big splash.
Bojan is an experienced wrestler. His main domain is definitely ground fighting. He has 11 finishes on the submission. Ronald is an excellent stand-up fighter and has won 12 by KO, TKO. Compared to Bojan, he is about 5 centimeters taller and also has a bigger arm span, which will be a really big advantage in the stand-up. Plus, he has a very solid defense against takedowns.
Although Bojan will be a really big challenge for Ronaldo, I believe that the regular wrestling workload and the aforementioned facts will play in Ronald's favor. He has also had a tough camp in the USA. For Bojan, there is a big question mark because of the year and a half long break. However, it should be noted that Bojan is an honest fighter who would not go into a fight without preparing properly. Even so, I believe that Ronald will show more hunger for victory in the end, as this fight could shoot him up as a contender for the Octagon welterweight belt.
