Description

Bet highlight:

  1. Nanterre is worst team in rebounding in BCL
  2. Strong defense for Nymburk
  3. Nymburk is more compact team, they have 4-0 on the road matches in this season

Full analysis:

Nymburk complicated their situation in the Champions League group of TOP16 last week, losing 86-90 at home to Nanterre.

The Czech champions now have a 2-1 record, the same as Nanterre, and the possibility of a rematch in France today. Experienced wing Martin Kříž summed up the reasons for the defeat:

The first match against Nanterre was not good. We watched it several times and it was not our game. Everyone knows how important this game is and we will go there to get the win back and if possible with a bigger point difference. The first game was decided by us not covering the space under the basket. Usually we get over 20 points from there, but this time it was double that. We didn't take care of our rebounding and we didn't rebound well. That's what we have to look at. If we take care of that and add the defence we're capable of playing, we have a great chance of winning.

Nymburk play really nasty defence (Birts and Rylich in particular are fantastic and have defended much better players at positions 1-3 in BCL this year) and if they get back to that, the French will be in trouble. The other thing is that Nanterre are the worst rebounding unit in the LM. And Nymburk, on the other hand, are one of the best in that activity.

Both are important - both lead to easier baskets from the break (after a defensive rebound) or from the second (third) chance - after an offensive rebound.

Nymburk is complete in France and has a more compact and better team for me. Nanterre played a tough game against relegated Lyon on Sunday (74-88), they will be tired. Nymburk had a cool shootout with Opava at home on Saturday, and coach Tabellini rotated his lineup.

The Czechs will want to win by 5 or more points to have a better score on H2H with Nanterre. That is why I like Nymburk -3.5 at 2.18 - fair odds I have somewhere around 1.95-2.
