Full Analysis
Greetings for another analysis where we look at the French Open quarterfinal match between Lorenzo Musetti and Frances Tiafoe. I recommend placing a bet on over 3.5 sets.
I agree that Musetti is the favorite, but the odds of 1.2 seem a bit unreasonable. Yes, Enzo is having the best period of his career, playing excellently on clay with a final appearance in Monte Carlo and Rome, plus a semifinal spot in Madrid, which has pushed him up to 7th place in the rankings. He is playing fantastic tennis, but I feel he’s often under a lot of pressure from his opponents, as was evident yesterday in his match with Rune. The Dane was a tough opponent for Musetti for three sets, pushing him to the defensive and breaking him mentally after the third set. Musetti has a fantastic defense, standing several meters behind the baseline, returning seemingly impossible balls, but I do miss a bit more activity from him.
Frances "Bigfoe" Tiafoe, on the other hand, is more of a fast-surface player, but he's playing the best clay-court tennis of his life. He hasn't lost a set in four matches here, defeating Safiullin, Carreno Busta, Korda, and Altmaier. His serve is his biggest weapon. Tiafoe has only lost his serve once in his first three matches, and against the experienced clay player Carreno, he didn’t offer any breakpoints during the entire match. Tiafoe will aim to play the opposite of Musetti’s style, avoiding long rallies and aiming to end points quickly. I’m really excited about this clash of contrasting playing styles and hope it doesn’t end in three sets.
Good luck
