The next match to look at at the BLAST Austin Major is B8 vs Heroic. Are Heroic deserved favorites? Sure. But since it’s a BO1 with a fairly balanced map pool on both sides, I think we need to approach this with a bit more nuance.

Heroic reached this match by losing to FaZe and then beating BetBoom. While BetBoom isn’t a bad team, they’re not exactly a strong one either - so that win was expected. On the other hand, B8 managed to take down Falcons. Yes, Falcons are clearly not playing their best CS right now, but on paper they’re still miles ahead of B8, so that upset carries weight. Heroic overall looks like they’ve lost a bit of steam compared to recent months. Still a solid squad, definitely hovering around Tier 1, but this is a BO1 -and I’d rate it close to a coin flip, maybe slightly favoring Heroic. Certainly not enough to justify 1.59 odds. I’m going with B8 here.
